When you guys are copying down my whiteboard solution, do you end up actually running it and seeing how bad my solution is or no?

    Take photo for the sake of HC, we will know if ur solution works the moment u spoke of it or wrote it down and walked me thru

  • I occasionally run the code to make sure there isn't something I missed. If I missed it as the interviewer, I can't really hold you that accountable for missing it either, though.

    Other times, I'll run code if I'm not familiar with the language you used to see what it does (if I didn't already ask about it in the interview).

    I take a picture so I can remember things when I write feedback. I don't type and run the code. candidate should walkthrough code during interview to prove it works.

  • Who copies a whiteboard solution? You mean in an interview? Dude, if you can’t prove your solution works from the board itself, you’re a no hire.
