Hi Fam,
I’m a Cloud Support Engineer, with 13 years of experience (TC: 138k) in Texas. I look at 100s of Blind posts about people posting such high salaries, makes me wonder if I picked the wrong career track to begin my career.
I’m not a programmer but have good Domain Knowledge in several areas and wondering if I could break into Product Management this late in my career.
Given the nature of this forum, I’m sure to get troll comments but all I’m seeking for is success stories of anyone who was able to turn things around for them (mid career) and make an acceptable salary (if not on par with others, with same YOE)
Thanks I’m advance.

I’m pushing 40 and still figuring myself out. I have done a lot of different things within the technology space and that has harmed my upward trajectory but I am thankful for the experience. It took some digging but I finally figured out in the last few years how to leverage that. I probably won’t ever make some of these insanely high SWE TCs but I am quite happy with my comp where I am now.
I don’t have a lot of practical advice but I will say cloud skills are quite valuable right now. Take heart, you will find your place.
What you have to do is identify what role that is for you and start applying. Trust me, you'll find something.
My TC was 120k as a CSE yoe 1 (Location:Dallas)
Left the job after 5 months.
My current TC at tiktok is 200k.
Just jump the ship.
