General concerns,

Does a candidate get asked 2 questions in each round? If yes, are they both medium/hard?
Are we expected to write the most efficient solution for each question?
What if I spend way too much time on one question that I don't get time for the other one?
How will I be able to solve 2 medium problems in 35-40 minutes with the most efficient solution coded out? (question to myself)
Will they not move to a next problem until I make the first question most efficient?

  • No you don't get 2 questions per round based on my experience.

I interviewed a month ago and got 1 question per round. My solutions weren't perfect, I had bugs that would result in incorrect output under some edgecases and the interviewer gave me some hints. I made adjustments to my code with their hints and by the end of the 45 min had a solution but just barely. I explained every thought process as I was writing my code and generally picked up on the more efficient approach right away.

I got the offer despite the fact that my code probably wouldn't compile, probably wasn't the most efficient, and relied on some hints to get it to work logically. In fact if I remember correctly most of them barely had any time to ask followups

Its one problem, if you somehow finish it with the best solution, then the interviewer might have a follow up question to the problem (ie. What if now instead of X we want to do Y). Depending on time you can just talk about it and not actually code it or anything, they might just move to just chat about their role and answer your questions about G.
