Friend just got a contract offer from Google

I have a friend who just went through an interview process for a contract-to-hire position as a data analyst from Google. He's got a bunch of SQL, Tableau, dashboarding experience, but curious if there are any issues people here know or have seen with these kind of positions. He's been offered around 90k for a contract position in San Jose.

I am sick of these people with a vacuum in place of balls, who feel the need to ask “for friend” on the anonymous platform.
Does your friend not has thumbs, or you are his pimp?

So you would rely on strangers recommendation without sharing the context? If your friend is homeless, this is an amazing option, if he has another offer >500k, this is a shit offer.

There is no more contract to hire. It's the recruiter telling your friend there is a possibility to get a full time position. While true, your friend will compete with external candidates as well.

It boils down to his alternatives. Is 90k a good offer for him? Or is he taking a pay cut for the allure of Google (and the hope of conversation to FTE)

Here’s the other thing too is Google directly saying it’s a contract-to-hire position or is it the contracting agency saying it? Cause it’s possibly going to be the old switcharoo done to you.

Ya that’s kind of shady. Just let your friend know if he ever wants to go FTE he’ll have to apply for an open job and interview just like anyone else.
