Getting fired/pip’d isn’t a surprise at any big company. Netflix included. You will know the axe is coming. So no. I don’t think they care about your immigration status. Neither does any other company. I’ve known people fired at Netflix. They knew it was coming.
If you want to play it safe, don’t work for Netflix. Only work there if you’re 100% confident in your skill and abilities. It’s all in their culture deck.
If it’s only about TC, you can get to Netflix level TC after a few years of refreshers at the usual suspects that have high refreshers and on hire grants.
The only caveat to point out is that sometimes you might not see it coming if your manager doesn’t give you feedback well. The industry is plagued with such managers anywhere including nflx.
They will try not to surprise people with firings. So maybe instead of a 6 month PIP you get a 1 month heads up that you're not a keeper. I haven't worked there though.
Well it doesn’t like any other employer. It’s a risk that you have to take. That being said, if you were smart enough to find a job at NFLX, you should be able to find another one in 2 months. You can generalize this argument to F/G too or any top tech employer.
Ideally yes, but bloody LCAs are also taking double triple the time (up to 2-3 weeks I heard). Plus the time to get a receipt is also increased. Both of these has squeezed the time even further. Remember , one might get a job but it might lead to lesser TC
Well you can always leave the country and come back and it won’t be counted against your h1b cap. But you can’t enter the country again if the transfer is denied.
