Why are 46% Muslims in India OBC?
I am joining the SRE SWE team at google. I am excited to try it out but also worried that it might not be the right fit. Is it possible to easily switch teams to SWE in google? Also, I keep hearing that you need to be at your current role for 18 months before you can make a switch, is that true?
I’d assume moving teams means you need to be performing very well, or else a new manager might not want to take on a low performer
A switch to SWE is just a team change, so the standard team change rules apply: they want you to stick around in your first team for a year.
SRE is a bit of a different beast and it's easy to change in 6 months, generally (saw it 4 times).
Changing the first time is different than subsequent changes.
Lol sorry I meant how so? Apparently autocorrect doesn’t like that.
Are you joining as an SRE or a SWE? Team switch is pretty easy at Google. Generally you need to be in your team for 12 months but I’ve seen exceptions made when it’s not a good fit.
I am not a good fit for my team. But I am told to wait for 4 more months (time to complete an year) before starting transferring. I am looking forward to the new team but don't see any reason why I *must* serve time.
