Just got a coding challenging from codility for virtu. It doesn’t seem so bad but I could be wrong. I know very little about the company - Could someone fill me in on TC, WLB, etc? Thanks TC: 89K YEO 1.6 #Virtu #softwareenginerig #virtufinancjal
It's a break into HFT, if you like the place and stay long enough (2 plus years), you MIGHT get a good bonus.
I’m getting the sense that this plays is way different than other firms and the pay is lower. Am I on the right track there? I had notions about it That I think are inaccurate
Hours are long but WFH arrangements are good. Developers typically work 55 hour weeks. WLB used to be a lot worse but I think there's an effort to make that better - though most people probably won't ever see a 40-hour week. Won't go into details but your specific role matters a lot too. On average it's better to directly generate PnL than to optimize systems, but there's definitely opportunity to make impact in ther latter role and get rewarded fairly well.
55? Are y’all paid overtime?
What is the Salary range for core ops? Also if I can choose between virtu and other tech companies. What should I pick?
I honestly bomber the interview on purpose because I was so bothered by the culture so I said fuck it. Pick a tech company. This is a place to get rich not to engineer things. You can get a good TC at an actual company
Good job! If you were bothered by the culture, definitely pick something else. Good luck!
Do you guys get paid OT for over 40 hours of work? What’s expected base salary for someone with 1-2 YOE?
Variance is huge. You wouldn’t get decent bonus until you proved your value. WLB also depends on how much compensation you will be satisfied with.
