Post about UE, but applies to other food delivery apps.
Ordering $9 Chick-fil-A through Uber Eats is $19 before any tips. Ridiculous markups 25%, restaurant have to do that because UE takes a huge %, so thats understandable I guess. But again there are service fee and delivery fee.
This whole model looks unsustainable, no wonder they never managed to make any profit so far.
I have a couple Amex Platinums where I get some Uber Credit every month. Otherwise I would never use the service. I like ordering directly from the restaurant, mostly pick up myself and tip generously. Yes, I usually tip 15-20% even for pickup. Especially during these times.
What do you all think? Do you use Uber Eats or other delivery service regularly? Is the price worth the convenience? Not for me.

I really don't understand the tips concept...why not pay the staff better wages and include the price with the food/ item or service charge?
Not that I don't tip... I do to follow the norm but I always feel it is not the proper way to pay what the staff deserve for their service.
I go beyond my way to appreciate a good service... but I feel tipping counters the whole point of quality of service regardless who/what the customers are.
Tips generously. 15-20%!
I got a $30 haircut last week and tipped $20. In the big picture, those small tips don’t mean anything or impact my life, but have a drastic impact on the service workers life. Don’t be a dick and tip!
Yes the model looks unsustainable but who cares? most ppl hail uber for getting into this business as well as criticize Lyft for not getting into it.... At the end of the day, customers are ordering....so, maybe they are all rich enough to pay for this.
