So how do *you* deal with it when interviewing with multiple employers & each recruiter asks you to provide several time slots for a tech interview...

And you'll respond to me when? Should I keep (3-5 slots) * 6 companies open?

I'm thinking, "We have tools for that." So I make a generalization like, "my calendar is open after Wednesday" and I include my Calendly / other "can't miss" tool to *guarantee a time slot*.

Response : "I need you to send me three dates and times you are available for a 45 minute phone interview with an engineer".

Sigh. You're a software company. Can't you see each other's calendars, or at least send invites?

Is this an incognito permutation / scarcity coding question?

  • How difficult it is for you to give 3 different time slots and tell them that your availability may change since you are actively interviewing?

Just give them one or two slots. Give same slots to multiple companies and update other company once once company confirm it.

the recruiter can see their company's devs calendar, in companies i've worked.
and they can see mine, through the magic of a booking app.

so they only need to connect the dots. it gives them power and convenience, and doesn't waste my available time slots.

    • not sure what a booking app is, i think most people don't want others people to see their calendar so no point for recruiters to support that?
