Why Worshipping Lord Ram Important in Hinduism?
what causes a burned bridge with a company? is not doing anything the last week put you on a list? what about giving honest feedback about things you dislike about the company? 3 YOE
If they are asking you to do work the last week they are dumb but you should do it. They are still paying you. A smart company will have you spending the last 2 weeks planning your handoff of work. As always be tactful with your criticism. If you were very unhappy they probably won't want you back, but then again you probably won't want to either. Just use your social skills on how hard to criticize.
imo, a good communication never burns bridges.
IDK about that. About the time I answered “Yes” to both “Did you see anything illegal?” and “Did you make management aware?” I became pretty sure that management tree wouldn’t want me back. Didn’t burn anything with my peers and higher management, but I’m sure it got to the local managers. Then again, those managers were a large part of why I left.
It can depending on what you say and how you say it. If you say anything negative about your colleagues or your boss, it will likely burn bridges, no matter how good you think the communication is.
Lack of Knowledge transfer is the most important. Company needs to have a way to continue functioning without any issues without you.
If you document and transfer knowledge, you can still burn the bridge with an unreasonable (and unable to be reasoned with) manager. Choosing the right hiring manager is critical as is realizing that you're being set up to fail when you are transfered to another manager.
Be honest. It doesn’t matter what you say (good or bad) because odds are 100% that you’ll be blamed for stuff going wrong for at least 6 months after departure. Say what you feel is needed, move on, and don’t look back.
Not true. Don’t need to say the negative when leaving. There is no value to say bad things. It will just make you in an awkward position. Just say what is positive and leave.
I dont agree to unnecessarily saying anything POSITIVE. Just move on
An honest feedback is a gift. Don’t give it away if u fear backlash.
Great point. Some companies want “candor” until you give it to them. If they didnt listen to you while they were there, don’t try to fix anything on your way out. People will get your feedback 3rd hand; it will be taken as a negative and almost always they will take it as an attack.
Old post, but this is a wise advise!
Not doing any work or KT during your notice period will put you on do not re-hire list for me. To clarify further I had an employee who kept on giving excuses after excuse and skipped doing anything. It was frustrating as the person dint even see through the KT or the final turnover of tasks. How professional you exit is an important factor. A employee of mine complained about every team member before resigning. After few months she hinted her desire to come back to the team in a phone call but I conveniently skipped over that part. If you can’t work in a team and handle differences professionally it would make it difficult for you to get rehired.
What org?
Giving "honest feedback" when leaving can definitely cause problems. You're already leaving, let things go and move on with your life, they probably really don't care what you think anyway
But you can try to make things better for people already working there if you speak out :)
^^ I would say it’s very naive to think they will take the feedback and act on it
Leave a bologna-egg and mayonnaise sandwich deep in a drawer that no one will find for a long time. It will cause a hazmat incident when it is discovered.
Crack a raw egg under a carpet. Better yet, “forgetting” a fillet fish somewhere warm and humid will definitely send a message.
Lol how will they know its you who did it.
A lot depends on how long you have been with a company.
Please elaborate
If you quit 3 months after joining saying bad stuff in your exit interview you will get blacklisted. Now say you worked for 5-8 years at a company and then leave it because of bad management etc and say that in your exit interview, then you are good. I thoughts I shared are from my personal experiences and may vary from company to company and management at HR level.
