Is PLC programming good for a firmware engineering career ?

I am a firmware engineer with 13 years of experience on C and some rust . Have been mostly working on level stuff . The startup I work currently has been switching from microcontroller solution to PLC’s for faster development. So I am having to do some programming. It is not going to be ladder logic probably a model and code generation. I just wanna understand from my career perspective if this is going to be good for my career going forward.
