My manager put me on a PIP on Thursday May 16. There's nothing to sign and it only had a couple deadlines (June 1 was the latest) for the deliverables mentioned. Other items didn't have a date. But there was no overall timeline in the official PIP. I had to email HR to ask about the overall timeline: they said that my manager would "review progress after 30 days". But in 30 days, my manager will be smack in the middle of her 2+ week vacation. Are they planning on firing me by June 1 and just BS-ing me about the 30 days? UPDATE: I forgot to mention that I've been miserable ever since I started with my toxic manager--and beyond that, the company is not stable. We might all get laid off anyway by later this year. I've only been there ~4 months. TC: $200k soon to be $0
Unfortunately yes. Start investing your time in your next job. Any time spent on this pip is waste of your time.
That's just paperwork to show you the door, sorry.
Independent of the PiP, leave the company or the team. The only reason to tolerate a toxic place and live miserably would be immigration issues or difficulty paying for your day to day expenses.
I've never seen someone survive a PIP, even when successfully meeting the denoted requirements. Given the lack of communication with your manager, I'd start looking elsewhere.
Take the severance
Maybe. Why not try talking to your manager? Lack of communication between the two of you is what got you in this situation in the first place.
