Proof Of Covid Vaccination?

Proof Of Covid Vaccination?

The CDC told millions of Americans now vaccinated against the coronavirus that they could gather in small groups at home without masks or social distancing, offering a hopeful glimpse at the next phase of the pandemic.

On Blind, the largest anonymous professional network, we ran a survey from 3.03-3.09 and asked over 3,200 users:

  1. Would you feel safe to commute to the office if everyone were required to scan their digital proof of vaccination?
  2. Would you be willing to scan your digital proof of vaccination in order to access indoor spaces?
  3. Should digital proof of vaccination be federally mandated?

According to data gathered by Blind, 67% of the surveyed professionals say they would feel safe to commute to the office if everyone were required to scan their digital proof of vaccination. Another 75% of the surveyed professionals would be willing to scan their digital proof of vaccination in order to access indoor spaces. 86% of LinkedIn, 80% of Google, 90% of both SAP and Splunk, and 90% of Accenture professionals would be willing to scan their digital proof of vaccination in order to access indoor spaces.

Most interestingly, more than half of professionals think digital proof of vaccination should be federally mandated. 70% of Lyft, 73% of IBM, 70% of Visa, and 67% of Snap professionals think digital proof of vaccination should be federally mandated.

This seems to have answered this Engineer at Facebook question “Is it safe to be around someone who has got vaccinated recently? My understanding is that vaccine is just a weak version of coronavirus. Hence the one who got vaccinated has COVID-19. So when they cough or touch surfaces, etc., there is a possibility of getting infected with COVID-19 if one is around them.”

A Blind user at Uber asked the platform, “When will vaccines be available to WFH software engineers? I really want to go to the office or do travel. I feel I’m gradually getting into depression…”

A Blind user asked, “Should employers require proof of vaccination before returning to office?”

In the near future, traveling may require digital documentation such as “vaccine passports” showing that passengers have been vaccinated or tested for the coronavirus. But can public transit, workplace offices, and other common space indoor settings also have that same requirement? According to this survey, half of the people think so.
