Decent pay for Columbus (not saying much though, LCOL), nice offices and good WLB since it seems like literally everyone coasts. Would be a good stepping stone company or first job but good lord, do not come here with more than 3 YOE in anything.
No opportunities for growth due to tenure being valued over soft/hard skills. Most people that have been working for Alliance Data (now Bread) have been working there for 20 years. Good luck getting that promotion. Talent is leaving in droves from unchecked managers who frequently create hostile work environments. This can range from screaming in meetings to physical acts of aggression. The managers tenure is really the only thing that saves them, even though they’re 20 years behind in their thinking from not working anywhere else. Management replaces these associate that have left with offshore associates that don’t care about the business or even their work in general, creating more work in fixing their mistakes. Their data science stack is ancient and surprising because you would assume a “fintech” wouldn’t be using a 20 year old model to run their business. I also have yet to meet someone who actually likes the new name. Why take the name of a tiny no-name company that we bought, when ADS has been around since the early 90s?
