- nice people - good job security (no layoffs ever) - vertical integration business model - good work life balance (people leave at 5pm on the dot, and almost no one works overtime)
- bad pay. Engineer 1 will get 60-70k. even if you have 5 years of experience, they will still assign you to E1 with maybe 75-80k, but they don't value outside experience unless you come from the medical field. housing here costs 2-3k/month for a one bedroom so the pay isn't acceptable for the area. - Lots of younger and inexperienced engineers. the talented ones leave and the people left are only good at pushing documents but not good at engineering. - almost zero design work. they will tell you that your day is a mix and everyday is different and exciting work spent on CAD and working with your hands, but the reality across most departments is that you will be pushing paperwork that a lot of times isnt even your own ( you'll be completing someone else paperwork after the project was half abandoned or the person left). - promotions are far and few in between. they come around every year and not really tied to your performance, but more on how you interact with your coworkers.
