A pure 9-5 culture which is hard to find in a financial markets company. Good benefits- lots of vacation, good insurance policies, a pension Beautiful facilities A good place to be if you just want to coast for a few years.
Extremely limited career growth possibilities- people are stuck with their titles for ten years without promotion. Many go several years without pay raises because they top out at allowed salary for their title. All opportunities are Chicago-centric. If you are in NY then you are con the outside looking in. The CTO has an outsized political influence, despite having little technology wins for the exchange. ICE is crushing CME with technology innovation. The C-suite is hyper sensitive to the CME’s stock price and operating expenses in the last 3 yrs. They are in year 2 of a 3 year workforce reduction.
