There was a decent starting salary and that was it. Also free healthcare.
Really incompetent executives who pretend to make data driven decisions. The data science department is a joke and I’m pretty sure it only exists to get VC money. The entire business model is a lie and there is no intersection of technology and publishing here. The only intersection of tech and deciding which books to publish is maybe googling trending topics then hiring authors who plagiarize existing content. The CEO is a lunatic where he forces people to be on weekly townhall to watch whatever video he’s starring in. Not kidding. Lots of people seem to be there for optics. Not to mention the virtue signaling of equality, diversity, etc when the entire c suite is white and crepey. Diversity is letting people of different backgrounds and experiences lead decision making vs. a white man with a random degree from an Ivy League. CEO/COO makes all decisions and they’ve obviously all been wrong judging by how many people have quit or been laid off in the last 2 years.
