Diversity. Consistent Overtime Options. Great Benefits. Training Process. Snacks Sometimes.
Shifty management practices. High turnover. Burnout. Role requirements. Terrible tech infrastructure. Was initially contracted to work for 6 months as they transitioned through the holidays and early year. (The position called for an Associates degree or some relevant experience. I had two Bach and at least 2 YOE in Finance. Overqualified for the position) We’d supposedly be offered full-time positions at the conclusion of the contract. Week by week saw all of the other contractors get released prematurely while also telling us our contracts were being extended. I was the last contractor there at a certain point. Seeing the pattern and expecting to be terminated myself, I applied and was offered a higher and better paying position within the company, by month three, in a separate department within the company. I immediately took it. The promotion was stalled for 2 months and everyone went silent on me. After applying pressure about it, I was finally told that the contracted department blocked the promotion and I’d not been eligible for the position because of an 18 month minimum clause that did not technically apply to me because I was not an employee. They also refused to terminate my contract. My options were to take a full time position in the current department and wait the 18 months, or quit and reapply to the other position (though I was later discouraged from that as it was implied that they’d block that offer as well). Out if desperation I took the entry level position offered even while being overqualified for it. Waited the 18months, ensured my performance stats stayed up, and was reassured that the position was basically waiting for me. The 18th month came and I was rejected for it as many as 8 times. Despite getting congratulatory calls from corporate office, multiple managers in both departments faking support, passing all certifications thrown at me, and having above average performance stats and working like a dog. Avoid at all costs, or stay only long enough to milk the benefits before your next move. Management has no integrity.
