KEARNEY - For the second day in a row schools in Kearney and the surrounding area are closed due to a winter storm. All classes and activities at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Kearney Public Schools and Kearney Catholic are canceled Tuesday. Several schools surrounding Kearney are also closed for a second day.
KEARNEY - The end of the coronavirus pandemic still is months in the future, but when the health crisis ends and air travel rebounds, Kearney Regional Airport will be prepared with an expanded and remodeled terminal. Prior to the pandemic's arrival, the Kearney airport was setting monthly passenger volume records.

KEARNEY - The Two Rivers Public Health Department reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 Monday. These included eight in Buffalo County, three in Dawson County, three in Kearney County, two in Phelps County and one each in Gosper and Harlan counties. No new cases were reported in Franklin County.

The city of Kearney Sanitation Division announces the following changes will be in effect for trash collection and the Kearney Area Solid Waste Agency Landfill, due to the impending inclement weather.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Wilson Family Medicine is collecting donations of masks, food, and hand sanitizer for the Kearney Center. The first supply drive from Wilson is taking starts on Monday and goes until February 26th. Season Wilson, who works at Wilson Medicine said they've been planning this for awhile and want to continue to help their community.
KEARNEY - The 10,000 animals adopted from the Kearney Area Animal Shelter since it opened in 2006 mostly have been dogs and cats, of course. However, there have been bunnies, birds and guinea pigs, a couple of chinchillas, and an occasional snake, according to Executive Director Olivia Derr.
