The people here are really great - particularly within the product development teams. Pre-covid I'd say it has one of the best and most unique cultures of any company I've worked for. We'll see how it evolves post covid. I've been here a long time, and there is a reason for that. Small company environment gives you an opportunity to wear a lot of hats / get involved in a broad spectrum of work (if that is your thing), but can limit your ability to focus and develop truly deep skills. It's great to work in an industry where your effort can have a measurable impact on the consumers you serve!
The fitness industry is quite cyclical, so there are times where things are booming and times where we're barely scraping by. If you are off trend, then it's going to be rough! As a public company this has a knock on effect, leading to wholesale shifts in the executive leadership team. Repeating the same mistakes. There is a big push to evolve the digital platform and to become a 'tech company'. A lot of internal debate and struggle to define exactly what that means. We set a northstar, and then often find ourselves heading west. Salaries are OK for non-tech, but not great. This is still evolving. No/limited equity below Sr. Director level.
