it’s genuinely a place that fosters great science, if you find the right team and have a manager that supports you it’s easy to grow and really learn and become independent. i have felt like i have gotten multiple mini phds in my time here. it’s a great marriage of academia and industry that i have found to be very unique to other biotech corporate positions. plus much more financially supportive than academia.
in the past 2 years there is a lot of growth, and with that comes growing pains. sometimes cross functional projects are frustrating because there’s so many middle level management people that need to “agree”. sometimes this makes things less efficient, particularly for those of us on the bench planning and performing the experiments. i’m sure it’s not regeneron specific, but your manager relationship is critical to your success here. this is a place where people genuinely enjoy their job, and i have found it is easy to overwork yourself. if your manager isn’t looking out for your best interest, it can require personal boundaries that are hard to set.
