It's fully remote and my coworkers are all very nice people.
Management is pretty bad. I think it's probably considered standard incompetence relative to the average work environment but I think it's the most incompetence I've ever personally encountered. I've never felt more like my words went in one ear and out the other than I do working here. There's also no coherent strategy at all. Quarterly planning is such a useless exercise when nothing that makes the list truly matters more than anything else that could be casually Teams messaged to you on a random Tuesday. It's all about quantity over quality and about vibes over thoughtfulness. If you can transform into a printer and go brrrrrrr for half-baked ideas borne from underscrutinized and limited data then you're in good shape to work here. Management also has very little understanding of what ICs do and what it takes to get things done. I've been told that management has, in the face of a process change, literally said across the board that they don't know well enough what the people under them do to say what's important and what isn't. If ICs went on strike for a week all of management would probably age ten years. Speaking of processes, they're either barely there or are poorly built and followed through on. Managers and directors either offer very little input/strategic oversight on this front or actively stand ones up that end up just being blockers for ICs. Also, need to work on a cross-functional project? Good luck finding the information you need because A will tell you to ask B, who'll tell you to ask C, who'll tell you to ask D, who'll tell you to ask A. Like building relationships with coworkers? Well, they're getting replaced by overseas contractors who need to take time to get ramped up, but management doesn't care about that! It's all about the KPIs. Career development is also blah. Benefits are average. Stock obviously has been doing poorly. In the end, I don't really advocate that one work for this company. I don't think it's a hard pass because everyone needs to pay the rent and there are far worse places to collect a paycheck from, but that's about it.
Investors’ enthusiasm about positive earnings reports from other companies is spilling over to Teladoc.
