Going from FT to contractor

Hi, I want to go from FT to contractor for the remote work benefit. What is the approximate hourly I should be getting for 150k TC and 401k/benefits? How will this look on a background check? Is it possible to get a contract role but still have it show up as consistent employment in a background check?
