Lied during the interview, doesn’t know the subject matter listed on their resume, bad communication skills, bad fit, etc.
Couldn't explain what they actual did in previous role. Couldn't take direction when feedback was offered to help. Never did the job they said they did.
I've interviewed and held back on providing previous role information because it feels like dumping everything onto the interviewer just takes up the entire time.
Typical you aren't dumping. You hit your highlights and then when you are providing stories for data points to the interviewers questions that is where you go deeper.
Lack of expertise, unable to translate their experience into answers to my questions, bad fit. I was also surprised so many professionals didn't know the STAR method.
Last one cheated on a technical assessment and it was recorded on video. Was a sad day to see. Others lied on resume, or couldn’t effectively communicate.

How do you determine something like bad fit?
Domain knowledge and experience. Has the person worked in a similar role/project, does they possess the expertise required for the role responsibilities? To clarify i am talking about product roles not swe
