Does Trump wear diapers?
I've been reading a lot of job listings lately, and companies frequently say they want people who think outside the box and have innovative/entrepreneurial qualities, but they also are very serious about engineering fundamentals, quality and best practices. Those are kind of opposite things in a lot of ways and I find myself unsure of how much to emphasize one or the other in my resume. I have a growing suspicion that most hiring managers (even at the most prestigious companies) are really looking for folks who can implement a spec and fit the organizational machine, and all that talk about innovation/entrepreneurial spirit is really just fluff for some unknown purpose. As such, I suspect I have been shooting myself in the foot by emphasizing my innovation qualities. Am I wrong?
