Tableau vs Amazon

I am in the final interviewing steps for Tableau AE and Amazon AE (L4) position, but receuiter felt I have L5 qualities. I have 4 YOE. Global Account Rep/ Account Management: Amazon recruiter told me my OTE would be around 98K, which is 40k below what I’m currently earning as a medical device rep. Tableau Mid-Comercial: Healthcare Tableau is given me a verbal offer with 140k, but I would like to know how it is structured. I know they were aquired by Salesforce, but do they offer stocks within compensation? Any suggestions or advice on how to negotiate? #ae #enterprise #sales

Yes. You should get salesforce stocks

Amazon is low balling you. Tableau seems in-line since you don’t have SaaS experience. As an IC, you will not receive RSUs. It’s a salesforce policy. But, you’ll be happier at Tableau.

Is there a way to get offer higher from Amazon?

I’m interviewing for an Account Executive position. How much more leverage would I have with SaaS experience?

Your comp should be 50/50. Base/commission

Tableau drivemetho Jul 17, 2020

i’d go Tableau route if that’s what Amazon is offering.

Amazon: 125 TC 40 RSU’s Tableau: 155 TC 50/50

I received an offer from Amazon. L4 position 75k base, which is 36/hr. Available for overtime. 45k 1st yr sing on bonus. 35k 2nd year sign on bonus. 40 stock. I have yet to receive my Tableau offer, but was told I could receive 140-150k TC. 50/50 split (base + commission). Any one know at what % of commission is? If I have a base of 75k would it be feasible to earn a total of 140k with commission? Can I negotiate stock options at Tableau?

Tableau vvqP11 Jul 26, 2020

50% is commission I.e. 50/50 split. Ask for the account list and ask if they are green field. If they are green field it’s unlikely you’ll hit your number Y1. Takes time to build a territory. Now that SF owns Tableau it don’t know how rsu works. My understanding is it’s worse than when Tableau was its own company. Also, as a commercial rep there really isn’t negotiating for perks like rsu. Not until you get to mid management to you really have that ability.

Can you explain the green field?

Tableau is not a very innovative product- lots of customers but the big push now is more self-service. Look at Pyramid analytics, Tellius, or ThoughtSpot.

Lol. It’s better than NotSpot
