Verizon Media Offer
I received an offer from Verizon Media, and would like to know if it's good or if it can be better. It's for an IC3 position. I have an MS degree with 3 YOE. Base: 150K Equity: 25K over 3 years Bonus: 15% Sign-on Bonus: 25K
Run away.
Couple things to keep in mind as you decide. Bonus funding this year was 75%, last year 100% and the year before 50%. Also, be sure you’re comfortable with the possibility that your team will be absorbed by Verizon proper (like infra was) or sold to another company (like Flickr). It’s a decent IC3 offer. Haha. I don’t think we are dying as wireless, FIOS/wireline, 5G etc aren’t going anywhere and that is 90%+ of the business. Identity crisis is 100% accurate tho...

Keep in mind that you shouldn't expect much from the equity. Check the stock ticker VZ for the past 5 years.
Looks right. Possibly negotiate 5-10k more on equity, but it’s possible they already compensated that with sign on.
