Accenture vs JPMorgan

I currently work as a Software Engineer at JPMC and may have an opporunity to make the move to accenture as a Cloud Associate Architect. Does anyone have any advice on accenture? I want to try and step out of my comfort zone, but not sure if leaving JPMC for Accenture is the right choice.

Accenture treats their devs like monkeys

Depends what you are into, typically as an architect you do little to no development and more high level design. Hours depend on the project. It’s a good place to hone your soft skills

I’m split between both, to be honest. I like development, but I also like architecting solutions. I just haven’t had an architecture position as a full time gig. I also have this weird thing where I think I’ll never find another dev job again if I move into architecture

Funny you say that, I don’t work at Accenture anymore - used to be an architect and changed back to SWE. So that’s definitely not the case

I’m in the Tampa office!

join some engineering or center of excellence teams internally so that you'll get exposed on more solution architecture type gigs. don't go w/ any of operations you'll just be flooded with JIRA tickets i did consulting before at jpmc. performance engineering/capacity planning

What level at Accenture?

If you put in the time to get the certs and client experiences, you’ll be able to move any other company within 3 years

What level @ accenture? I am an SWE consultant. I chose this over Booze Allen, formation.AI, and Commerce Bank. I like it, and they seem to pay well

I switched from JPMC to Accenture a year ago. I don’t regret it, I do feel Accenture tends to be a little more tech focused but all depends which client you get on. After 6 years at JPMC while I felt things were fine I sometimes felt restricted in terms of access to the industry leading tech as they did place heavy restrictions on what you can and can’t use.
