- Freedom to work creatively, with a fairly flat hierarchy and potential for impact from day one. - Fairly social and relaxed culture, which enables people to perform at their best. - Competent co-workers who take a genuine interest in what they do. - Good overall benefits/pay, though lacking for the players they are competing with (other HFs & prop trading firms).
- Too many examples of unsavoury characters (narcissists, bigots), which is to be expected as a trickle-down effect when you look at the upper hierarchy. Seems to be widely tolerated and even accepted positively. Unlikely to develop non-transactional or deep relationships here. - Hours expected to be spent in the office are unnecessarily long, despite the preaching of a performance-focused assessment culture. - On previous point, politics and relationship games are also clearly important, despite claims to the contrary. - HF industry generally isn't the most motivating to work in. Much more important & engaging work to be done elsewhere, which is particularly sad given the high quality of talent present.
