Could anyone who works at Marshall Wace tell me about what the average working hours are like (I've heard that 8am-7pm is common, is this true?) and what the general culture's like for swes? TC: 120k
In my experience you're expected to be at your desk by 8am and no one leaves before 6pm. But most are out by 6:10pm. So if you're going to have any commute it can be rough. In comparison to tech the culture is more high strung and everything comp is much less transparent. But you get to code a lot, instead of spending time in endless meetings.
