* if you get a good team the work is interesting and their is good work life balance and team morale. * I’ve really enjoyed working with a lot of very interesting and talented people.
* pay has pretty much stagnated and isn’t in line with inflation or growing responsibilities * flat org structure means you might be doing other roles when team members lack expertise. * Middle management with little to no management training and self interested goals. * very sexist culture in some teams * no accountability for some toxic people means good people leave asap or get transferred out of teams rather than dealing with the issue. * burn out has been common since I started. * the interview process is too long.
