1. WLB is one of the best if you are in corporate support jobs ( in contrast of physical store workers) 2. Job security: Company has been around over 90 years, has not had mass layoff even once, Company would still hires even in recession or crisis (2008 and covid-19) 3. Culture/Pay: You get paid to get the minimum job done at most corporate teams. 4. Management: depending on the team, most managers are people managers who stayed there for 15+ years of their life and plans on retire there.
1. Management: Most of the managers are people managers who have absolutely no clue about technology but in the role of tech leadership ( Eng manager, IT director, VP of Eng, CIO ) 2. Pay: way below industry average for tech jobs, it's a grocery retail chain after all. 3. Technology stacks is about 20 years behind the rest of the nation, because see #1 4. Career Growth: None, if you are a top performer you get paid the same as the next guy who coasts. You will have hard time finding another tech job after staying here for too long, because see #3 5. Culture: old conservatives, but do listen to employees , remote work option is still behind the industry standard
