Please help me evaluate my offers. I am on H1B and I have only 40 days left on my grace period. Oracle (OCI tier-0 product) Startup’s equity is all paper money. So the real cash component is only 208k Yoe: 5 Current TC: 335k (230+50+55) -> PIPed
If you can taper down the spending to match the lower salary, go for Oracle.
Any particular reason for OCI specifically?
Its all preference, but I would prefer Oracle for more stability. Also, since its remote you might be also to double dip if workload is a lot easier compared to ByteDance. It might also keep your resume strong. But its really dependent on you
Oracle when on visa
Negotiate with Oracle with the startup offer, hopefully bump up a little bit. Then join OCI.
OCI. Stocks will keep soaring.
If it’s a visa situation, please go to Oracle. As fast as you can.
The sole purpose of the oracle to hire you is to fire you on the first hour of the first day, no severance at all.
solid ic3 offer
After how many days of final interview recruiter reached back?
With H1B I wouldn’t fuck around. Pass the startup and take Oracle.
It’s a well known startup which recently acquired Veritas. Trying to keep my post anonymous from the recruiter I am working with. Do you still advice Oracle?
The well known startup is likely to ipo soon. So, I would not worry about job stability :-). Please be aware that OCI is no fun place especially if you are not located in Seattle.
