Manager informed that I am in dev list a week back. I have an external offer and was anyway going to quit. Now there is no concrete plan provided to help me come out of the dev list before I quit. I am assuming that the dev plan can last several months. How do I instead convince my manager to expedite pivot and fire me with a severance? #severance #layoff

If you're on the dev list, you will be unregretted attrition, even pre-pivot. Ask for a severance package, you will likely get it (win-win)
I did this, exact same thing back in March. Just tell your manager you're no longer a good fit for your role and ask to be pivoted. They can't say no since that's what they r tracking towards anyway. Don't tell them about your other offer. Turn it into all about you and your emotions and mental health. Worked super easy for me, I got my pivot within a week and took a nice severance only to start my new job the following Monday lol

Can the new company rescind your offer when they find out you were fired?
Tell Amazon manager that you donât feel Dev List has clear achievable goals and so you would like Pivot / PIP so that you can exit performance management based on metrics. When they present Pivot, take the Tier 1 severance option.
How many tiers of severance are there? What's there in tier 1 severance?
