I'm... bored?

I got bored so I moved my life & job to the bay. New job's work is "challenging" but at the same time not really. And also bored with the social life here and I'm only in my mid 20s. Probably can't move jobs yet because I'm less than 6 months into this new job and now I'm considering going back to school just because. What do you guys actually do outside of work? It's not like I don't have friends - all they want to do is drink drank drunk and drink on repeat. And no I'm not going to leetcode more because I'm not an engineer. Tc: 130k with 2 yoe.

Don't ever go back to school. When you're young and single it's tempting to go back to school to meet new people and find new friends. Specially if you're new into a job and a city. But going back to school only postpones the issue. At some point after school you have to start over at a job and a new city.

Ive been where you are in my early 20s. Buddies were all still in college mode and clubbing/partying/drinking every weekend. Solution was to make some better friends via online gaming and now 12 years later we’re IRL friends who still meet regularly. Not saying it should be online gaming but friends are not immutable, let go of your current group for a while and find people who align more with your interests.

The solution is never online gaming

That’s cool. This is a good problem to have. You won’t always have so much spare time so make the most of it. -Work on a side project (totally unrelated to ridesharing — you’ll learn more) -Pick up a new skill, work related or otherwise -Attend local Meetups and events. Go out and learn new things. Be genuinely curious about other fields and perspectives. -Have some written goals and go out there and achieve them.

“This place is boring” is more of a you problem than the place. It’s not like the place (any place) controls you to do things. You make your life what you want out of it. Drinking is fun until you hit the point in your life where you want more out of it. Like where you’re at. Find different better people. There’s so much to do, your imagination is the limit. Do a new project, pick up a sport, do improv, I mean there’s just endless things to do, you just need to get out of the rut, find some cool people, but most importantly no matter what you choose to do.... Take Charge!

There are a lot of special interest channels on uchat, have you tried those? You can also ask if anybody wants to join you in the building or city channels if you have any ideas. Do you even know what kind of activities you're hoping to do with people?
