Hi, I recently interviewed at Microsoft for OPG (Office Product Group) and my final round is left. HR is trying for L63 level and the final managerial round is left. I’m going through salary ranges shared on blind and levels. FYI, it seems like Microsoft mostly low-balled candidates if they are not holding any other offer letter. This is my concern. As of now, I’m not holding any offers. YOE: 9.5 Current CTC: Base: 31, Stocks: 17K each year, Role: Similar to L62 at Microsoft (Adobe low-balled me initially as I’m coming from a service base company and not aware of the pay bands) What can I expect from Microsoft if I clear my final round also? It would be helpful if someone shared the negotiation tips. Or will I take whatever they offer and take a counteroffer on that (It is difficult, by looking at the current job market) Thanks, in advance #microsoft #interview
I had 5 offers in 2022, MSFT beat all offers. After 1 year, pay was reduced by 30% citing market conditions. In the current toxic market, multiple offers doesn’t mean anything.
Pro tip: You know you don’t have any other offers. Bluffing is a complicated but fruitful skill.
Don't share your current salary details. When they ask for expected CTC, tell your expectations like 50 to 60 base, 150k to 220k stocks and 20 l joining bonus in two years. Don't budge much if they say anything else. If u have performed really well.. they should offer you this range
But HR always asks about the CCTC both in first call and the final discussion What to do ? I was lowballed because of my CCTC though they have a budget for that role. How to handle such scenarios?
HR are specialised to ask your CTC but you should tell them that you know the range offered by the Microsoft for the role you are interviewing for and tell that CTC is confidential so can't share the exact numbers
Is the recruiter responding? How many weeks/days ago did you finish your 3rd round?
