Worse than a nuclear bomb
The horrors that vacant, asbestos infested, lead paint covered, unsafely constructed buildings would be torn down
Or just gutted and renovated?
And replaced with
Can you provide some context so your thread has a shot at being useful?
It's a before and after of Cincinnati, is that difficult to understand
You say that like demolishing something is always a bad thing.
It’s… Ohio. Do this for a city that people actually want to live in.
You can check Manhattan especially times square and broadway in the 70s and compare it to 40s and now that they've pedestrianized it. Houston's downtown is a huge example if you compare it to 40s and 70s. Houston has been infiliing though and are going to pedestrianize a few blocks in their downtown. Progress is happening.
I always thought that the bad part of a nuclear bomb was killing people, but that’s just me
Do you see any life? I just see pavement
But suburbs!!! 🤮😭
Vomit
Cemetery prep.
Progress is converting all of the United States to 1) a strip mall or 2) a parking lot.
Hey man, all those buildings were getting in the way of much needed strip malls and parking lots. Thank God and country for capitalism and the laws of supply and demand. Any God fearing American knows that cities are for driving. Walking is a sin. Walkability is the temptation of the devil and communism.
I f*cking love tearing down places to live and work to make space for roads to connect places to live and work
As I sit here in the drive-through line at McDonald's waiting for my double bacon cheeseburger and extra fries, I can't help but admire the progress we have made in our great country. From our culture to our cuisine and our way of life. I am just so proud to be American.
Progress allows you to write this shitpost and don’t think about hungry feeling
Can I put a highway where you live
Can I back you to the time of the first picture? You should learn a bit about the average quality of life for people just 100 years ago
This is not progress, but car manufacturers lobby. Most of US cities are so ugly compared to EU or OAE
People can't imagine a life without being forced to have a car
Cars are the best. Cars set us free. I can go wherever I want, whenever I want. What I can’t imagine is a life where I’m forced to walk everywhere, or worse, forced to cram myself into a metal tube full of people like cattle while being entirely dependent on the routes and schedules designed by some bureaucrat—you know, public transportation.
Maybe slightly exaggerated...
It's the same place
