Not all YoE is equal. Meta has the best ability to grow engineers.
Oh microsoftie
What do you mean by “optics of people in these high paid positions”?
Post refers to looks, appearance...
There was a dumb woman on my team from tier 3 college. She grew to staff in 4 years
Same manager all along
Good thing about coming here is the fast promo process for internal employees
Was he laid off?
No I wasn't :)
Meta’s leveling is a game. Some people learn to play fast, some people take their own pace. Good thing is, all fast promos are evaluated against other seasoned E6s. So if someone was fake promo’d, they would get chopped during the PSC. As long as they’re performing E6’s expectations at Meta, why not get compensated for it anyway? Are they ready for non-Meta’s Staff role - maybe or maybe not. It’s mostly finding the right opportunity and sticking with it.
Wrong. Once you are 6, it’s significantly easier to keep proving you are 6 as every opportunity is presented on a golden plate to you
This is like “we’ve conducted an internal investigation and found no fault with us”. The real question is can these E6 survive at other companies at that level? My sense after seeing some of them work is that they had some good projects and luck in a fast growing org. Would you trust someone three years out of undergrad to design a whole critical feature or piece of infrastructure…?
I mean he looks like he's started multiple successful companies since leaving so while it can seem a bit silly to give such a high title at low years of experience the guy was more than likely extremely good at what he did
This is going to get flagged lol
this is public information. nothing proprietary here.
Happened to me. Blind doesn’t ask you for justification.
