Is stock market going to tank soon?
I think I need some help deciding between two opportunities as I step away from my first job out of college at Deloitte Consulting. 1: Compensation Consultant at solidly established consulting firm: - 110k base; ~127k TC - 30% pay bump - same MCOL city as I am now so expenses relatively unchanged - Have a solid relationship with leadership via recruiting process - hybrid role Overall: I'm excited at the opportunity to work with a nicer company culture, get exposure to multiple clients at a higher level than before, even some pre-ipo companies. I'm familiar with consulting, the area, expectations, and growth. I'd be coming in at an MBA level role. 2: S&O Associate @ Healthcare startup: - ~85k base; equity TBD - promising looking company (https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/goforward) - verbal offer, I'll update numbers as they get clarified. - Series D startup - Based out of downtown San Francisco, in person so moving expense and HCOL Overall: Seems interesting prospect and a big shift that could lead to more opportunities in tech companies down the line. Amped to finally get some equity instead of just cash, and feel good about the company IPOing in a couple years. I do want to move towards tech and product management eventually, but am not sure if this is the right time and the right opp to make that decision. I'd appreciate y'all's help and discussion in helping me think through this. #tech #startup #consulting #help Blind tax: TC: ~87k
85k is half of what you'd need.
85k is nothing in SF, compare cost of living
