How is such a close race even possible?
Am torn on whether sports betting (Draftkings etc) is legal in Washington state on H1B visa. Reasons for confusion : 1. Amid a widespread shutdown of athletic events, Washington state has become the 21st state to legalize betting on sports. Gov. Jay Inslee on Wednesday signed legislation to authorize sports wagers in tribal casinos only. ---> TRIBAL CASINOS ONLY ? 2. The states where DraftKings blocks players are: Arizona, Alabama, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada and Washington State --> WHY BLOCK WASHINGTON IF ITS LEGAL ? 3. Heard that Draftkings issues 1099-Misc, preliminary research suggests that getting 1099-Misc on H1B alongside primary source of income is fine, is it ? Can someone educate me on how I can bet on UFC fights considering that I am in Seattle on an H1B visa tc - 250K #personalfinance #investments #sidejob #draftkings #hustle

Attention seeking assholes are an inherent caveat of Blind posts. But I am hoping for some legit inputs as well 😊
I hope the same for you, that is one cranky dude seriously
It's legal as long as you lose.
Certain winnings do trigger a 1099. I won cash from a raffle and received a 1099 at the end of the year.
And then ? You were on H1B ?
Sorry OP, I am a citizen so I simply had to settle up tax wise on my 1040. It seems to me there is a huge difference between earned income and gambling winnings, but since I am not a lawyer I cannot advise you.
What on earth does sports betting have to do with H1B? Even if it does, do you really think the systems are smartly linked as to figure out the connection? Last time I checked it was hard for an immigration officer to know how many days you really spent in the country, yet to mention what events you attended and their nature.
Perhaps you were so excited to school someone on blind, that you forgot to read my entire post - "Heard that Draftkings issues 1099-Misc, preliminary research suggests that getting 1099-Misc on H1B alongside primary source of income is fine, is it ?" If a platform accepts your ssn, then it's traceable pretty easily.
No, schooling you doesn't bring me any excitement. Now change the misleading title of your idiotic post and go straight to the point before over elaborating with 3 useless paragraphs.
