Need answers to some questions please: 1. What’s the frequency for stocks vesting? 2. Recruiter told me that they give stocks and options, I’m aware of stock component but what are options for non ipo company? 3. Can we not liquidate the stocks until company goes live? 4. I am offered Engineer level role (I think there are 3 levels: Engineer, Senior Engineer and Principal Engineer) and my TC is around 250K excluding sign on with 3 yoe. What do you guys think of my offer? 5. What’s the bandwidth for TC at senior engineer level? #tech #motional #hyundaimotor
I have a friend at Motional, too. I recommend going to Motional.
Aren’t you working there? 🤔
I have worked at Motional. I recommend going to Motional... if you are fine with working on just demoware. The product roadmap is all about making the next demo "successful", where definition of success is a moving goal post.
1 - Vests 25% every year, but ... distributions are non uniform. I think first one is at 3 years and goes all the way up to 9 years for complete liquidity 2 - options are very similar, except for the dates I mentioned in 1. If you can get stocks at x dollars you also get options at that price 3 - covered in 1 4 - I think it's a good offer for P2 (Engineer). Roughly, P3 might get you 350k 5 - if you meant the band, it's quite broad particularly around equity - id say 250- 400k as a guess
Looked at the liquidation rights a bit more Year 3 - 25% of vested shares that have been held for 6 months Year 5 - 50% of vested shares that have been held for 6 months Year 7 - 50% of vested shares that have been held for 6 months Year 9 - 100% of vested shares
What difference between vesting and distribution ?
I have a friend at motional. Do not join motional.
Reason?
Ceo does too much coke for the lack of success theyve got. Definitely will not ipo. Basically all the engineers there expect the company to fail eventually.
