How often to PM roles open up at Booking.com? Interviewed, but now in limbo
Hey Booking folks - applied to the pipeline job req for PM, Accommodations and went through the recruiter interview and the two craft interviews. Thought I was going to hear back at the beginning of this week, but just heard back today from a different recruiter that the other recruiter was sick. He mentioned that I had very positive feedback across the board, and the business unit would've moved me forward into team fit interviews, but all the open roles had recently been filled. The email then mentioned that once they have an opening that they'll reach out, and that they'll pass my resume and feedback to the other business units. Question is: how often do PM roles open up on the team or at the company? TC: 0 laid off in December :/ Update for those interested: contacted about an open role today (1 week later)
What do they ask in craft interviews ? Any particular preparation needed ? Do they follow Facebook/Google structure ?
The recruiter should give you a breakdown of the competencies they will ask about, but: craft interview #1 - Product + Biz strategy e.g. market sizing, prod market fit, developing a prod vision, GTM Success metrics e.g. defining metrics, analyzing data, experimentation, interviewing customers, primary vs secondary metrics craft interview #2 - Strategy + planning + product delivery e.g. prioritization, roadmapping, risks and dependencies, sprint planning Stakeholder management e.g. requirement gathering, effective communication Technical acumen e.g. technical decision influence, managing SLAs, handling tech debt, monitoring health of the product Emphasis on coming up with examples about these things from your experience, emphasis on focusing mainly on the problem space rather than the solution, emphasis on focusing on data, emphasis on focusing on the user (pretty standard PM stuff, but mainly geared toward B2C PMs)
Reasonably often, depending on the business unit. If the feedback was good something may well come up. Don’t hang your hat on that though, keep applying places if you’re out of work. Good luck!
I’m also in the same situation, done with both craft interviews, haven’t heard back on the next steps except that feedback is overall positive. The wait is killing me. Do you know what to expect in the coming rounds?
Upcoming round is team fit, so basically just the team doing a vibe check on you and you doing a vibe check on them and seeing if both feel like it's a good match. Recruiter provided a prep guide that goes more in depth, but basically how you think about the company values.
I too received an email saying that due to an internal change, there is some delay in HM interview :( I hope my role isn’t closed as well.
