Looking to apply to a role at Carmax. How does the performance management work there? Is there a stacked ranking system (or forced ranking - pushing to performance tiers based on solid 10% - 15% quotas)? TC: 110k

It's a very Capital One specific term. It's C1's system of forced distribution/ stack ranking / rank and yank / mandatory PIP quota.
Ha. I've spent long enough in career to encounter discussion of the general notion of performance management but the fact that it's specifically used as a term within cap one says somehting. Or maybe they're just more honest than firms that just try to hide all of this behind window dressing

Yes - in my tenure at CarMax, nothing of the sort has come up in terms of performance metrics. I don’t think you have to worry about that, sounds mostly like a Capital One concept to me.
