I noticed that the display on my apple watch 7 is not as much edge to edge compared to what it used to be until few months ago. Anyone else noticed the screen size difference? It looks more like apple watch 5/6 One of the many discussions you can find online - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253268661 Would apple be able to do that programmatically? #apple #applewatch7
Did you wash it in hot water for it to shrink ??
Nope. Only put it in the dryer once a day
Yes, Apple has a history of pushing software updates to shrink devices. I purchased a 13” MacBook Air a few years back and it’s down to 11” now. Surprised they haven’t tried getting into the medical industry with this technology.
Just like my T-shirt from Walmart. Outrages!!
Apple slowly makes the screen smaller so the next gen watches seem bigger
That’s exactly what I feel as well
Love the clock
My AirPod Pro Gen2’s used to nearly completely block out sound out of box - like, can’t hear someone standing next to me speaking. A few firmware updates later and they barely do anything. They do this dumb thing where you put one in and the one plays white noise, then you put the other in and the white noise stops playing, to give the *illusion* of noise going away. Why there’s no class action on this yet is beyond me.
lol what are you even talking about? Are you talking about the black bezel? Cause that of course can’t change. Or are you talking about the 2 different watch faces using the available display area differently? (With the latter putting complications a bit I set from the edge)?
Ok so the issue is - when I initially bought the series 7, the same watch face was more edge to edge. Now it isn’t as much edge to edge. Infact it appears that the black bezel (which was once actually not bezel but display) has increased and the display has reduced in size. More so like previous watch versions. There is a clear shrink in the area that it lit
You’re seeing things. I can assure you the black bezel isn’t getting bigger. Feel free to measure with calipers or go to a store and compare directly against a display model Series 8. Or grab an old Series 4-6 and compare. Likely you’ve just grown accustomed to wearing it that the novelty of the smaller borders has worn off.
As a hardware engineer, let me assure you that displays do contract/expand naturally.
Interesting. Do you know what affects it?
Temperature, humidity, elevation, moon phase, etc
