I had an on-site interview last month and the day after interview the recruiter called me and offered me a very low salary. I have told him what I make is higher and requested base salary is 180k in Bay Area. Since then, I heard nothing from the recruiter. I contact the recruiter every week but he does not reply back. I contact the hiring manager and he said they are still processing my candidacy! And the recruiter will be in touch. I don’t understand why the process is taking so much time? They didn’t even send the travel reimbursement forms for me although I have asked the recruiter twice! Should I consider I have been rejected but they don’t want to explicitly tell me? HPE
Yes and your ask was higher which they are unable to fulfill.
$180k base in HPE. You should be interviewing for principal or above roles. Otherwise don't have any high hope.
Wouldn't be surprised if they are super slow - especially if you are asking for something well outside of the norm. I'd say be patient and keep following up.
HPE is 1. Relentlessly cheap 2. Dying. Why the fuck would you voluntarily go there?
This is called Life. Not everyone ended up in faang.
Take it from someone who is ex-HPE through Aruba: there are tons of non fang companies better than HPE. Have some pride. Even Cisco is better.
Don't bother, consider that is the end.
