I am here on Visa and till few months back was thinking that Trumps policies were good for America. His tough stance on China, fixing loopholes in work visas were good. Looking at the post election scenario and conspiracy theories regarding elections flouted by many of his party-men without any evidence, I am convinced how dangerous these people are for anyone else other than white evangelical Christians. I understand they feel losing power and being sidelined but by flouting conspiracy theories, they are making their position and America's position even more worse. Never seen such an egoistic person in any democracy clinging to power after election results even in 3rd world countries. Increasing Prevailing wage to prohibitive levels for H-1B shows that these people doesn't care how skilled or what talent you have and they just want absolute ZERO immigration from non white countries. Good that Stephen Miller has to find another job. Stephen Miller is a jew and does he even know what anti semitism is?. His family immigrated from Belarus before WWII otherwise would be turned into ashes in any of those Nazi camps.
Finally someone came to their senses. Time for other immigrants to read and internalize this post.
Wrong on all counts: 1: more naturalized citizens voted for trump than last time. For 4 years liberal media was barking that he is racist and anti immigrant all wrong as proven by the voting pattern. 2: even Biden supports H1b reform based on wage levels as stated in his policy so please STFU why does wage level reform only impact “non white countries “ ? In other words are companies willing to pay more for white folks ?
So wait, what he said about Mexico, about African countries, about China, the Muslim ban are not racist because some minorities voted for him?

Trump fucked up 5 things for every 1 that was OK. Revisit H1B? Yes. Separate families in concentration camps, enable KKK, wants to put military against city, hate speech against non white, reverting healthcare for some, transofobic, illegal enrichment? No.
I am a conservative immigrant and voted for Trump. I had my reasons and will not discuss them with anyone. I also think right now it's very important that we unite as a nation. Let's stop labeling those who don't agree with our views as left/right or communist/nazi. Let's actually come to the discussion with the intention of understanding the other side instead of trying to win an argument. As it stands now Joe Biden is the projected winner by all the major networks and president Trump introduced a series of lawsuits claiming fraud – which he is in his right to do so. Here's what I propose: Let's assume Joe Biden is going to be the president until the courts give a verdict and be happy for our country. If (and I admit that it's a pretty big if) the courts give a verdict in favor of Donald Trump, let's move forward together and be happy for our country. If the courts give a verdict against him, let's move forward together and still be happy for our country. America needs of all Americans right now and only together we can move forward.
Big fat if that has less than 0.1% chance of happening
You do realize that most people here do not want to see reason. But will just puked talking points they heard on the media. Absolutely no critical thinking. How do you propose to reason with such people.
* conservatives see media favoring progressive agendas and their own viewpoints being criticized, they're made out to be stupid or crazy, marginalized by the new establishment. I'm not foreign to this.
Also don't think you will find any person living up to any set of ideals perfectly, but I think Trump's sentiment, language excluded, really does believe these things: America should preserve businesses on its own soil, have more exports, be more self-sufficient. Less reliance on other nations. He wants us to have dignity, but his tongue undermines him. He wants our borders to be respected, the process of obtaining citizenship to be respected. Letting people enter illegally, some who want to maintain their identity as members of another country, or who lack respect for America, should not be allowed in. Used to be some immigrants were grateful for the freedom America offered, they kissed to ground for the opportunities they had. America is taken advantage of when our boundaries are violated. He wants the country to be respected, too bad he acts like a clown to subvert it. Illegal immigrants being allowed to vote cheapens citizenship. He wants dignity for us in the area of trade, China doesn't respect our intellectual property, and their cheap labor does not encourage domestic business. During Obama era, we were constantly apologizing and shaming ourselves as a nation to other nations, talking about paying reparations. Boo hoo, america is bad. Donald saw this and didn't like this shame attitude that our nation was talking it on. He wants us to be strong, not ashamed. He's actually very patriotic, proud of his nation. Trump, aside from liking or hating people he agrees with and disagrees with on a dime, however he respects those who want to work to be successful, doesn't prefer welfare, people who come to mooch off the system and not contribute. All these things are good, but it'd be great if he didn't stumble over his tongue and had self control
sounds like you're interpreting Trump's incoherent rant into a view that confirms your own.
The first few points from Microsoft are actually quite good. The broad thrust of the policy positions trump presented were ones many people could agree with, even though trump obviously isn’t smart enough to have them or execute on them. This relates to more jobs, more internal reliance, supporting legal immigration, trade with China. Then it goes into a bit of conspiracy theory. Yeah illegal votes cheapen democracy, but this would be a problem if true. It’s not. Then it goes into the strongman stuff. Apologizing when you messed up is not weakness, it’s strength. Yeah trump is patriotic, but in the worst way, which would make a true patriot ashamed to have him as their leader. Many white supremacists are patriotic also, according to some people, but no one rightly wants to be associated with them. I’m glad the American people have spoken and chosen “not trump”.
In terms of immigration, it's simple you appeal to your base. Trump's base and Republicans in general are okay with very high skilled immigrants who are more likely to start their own business, against outsourcing jobs, completely despise illegal immigration. Democrats are on the opposite spectrum, they strongly support more refugee immigrants from south who are most likely to vote for them in large numbers, held up multiple bi partisan bills for high skilled immigrants by tying it up with DACA during obama years because the number of potential votes through legal vs illegal is stark difference
Trump immigration policies were good for PR with xenophobic Americans. Scapegoating "the foreigners" is the oldest trick in the book. Trump never gave a shit about anyone except himself. If you're an immigrant supporting Trump, you've been duped. No, he won't screw over "less worthy" immigrants to give you a better chance at getting that Green Card.
