Depends on how long youâll live.
You can plug all this info into a calculator
Buy a house, rent the basement and retire. Assuming you would be buying it in cash
Wow irrelevant to the poll. Just always wonder if it is worth it to live with parents to save money in your 20s. đ€Tradeoffs are like losing freedom and independence. But obviously can save a lot more money.
Yeah, if you get to live with your parents in 20s you could buy a new house, rent it out and pay it off much more quickly. I didnât do that myself, but can see how much faster one can retire if living rent free for a few years
Honestly you can do things to make up for it: - sign up for a dance class once a week - improv acting once a week - basketball practice 1-2 a week - gym 6 times a week
Very doubtful. Even if you triple your net worth in 12 years, youâd have 1.3Million, no equity in a home, no healthcare if youâre retired, and you may need that money to last you 50 years. This doesnât even take inflation into consideration.
How are you getting to 1.3? Even with conservative compound numbers, Iâd be at $2M minimum by age 40.
Curious what your conservative compound number is? I still donât believe 2M is enough to last 40+ years if youâre not working, donât have health insurance, donât own a home, etc. I suppose itâs possible but would need to live a very frugal life imho
Not even remotely on track to retire by 40 bruh. You need $10 mil to retire if you don't own a house for a hcol area.
I donât live in a HCOL
I think you could, given your retirement plans. The city you choose will play a large role, and lifestyle costs.
LMAO. Dude⊠youâve posted this like 3-6 months back⊠multiple times. You still havenât moved out? đ€Ł Talk about failure to launch. Honestly pointless to try to give you any advice. Same amex dude with the same problem.
I hope you have a good weekend
Stop overthinking it bro and go live life
Not with your current TC and balances. You're going to work until your 70s

Yes. If you retire in your parents home
Ideal retirement would be a one bedroom apartment in USA with a 2-3 year old car.
I assume parents (bless their soul) would be gone anyway by then and if had home would leave as inheritance.. Edit: ahh did not see the before 40 part
