“I think that the whole notion of work from home is a bit like the fake Marie Antoinette quote, ’Let them eat cake,”″ Musk said. “It’s not just a productivity thing,” Musk said. “I think it’s morally wrong.” Musk referred to tech workers as the “laptop classes living in la-la-land,” telling Faber it was hypocritical to work from home while expecting service workers to continue to show up in person. “People should get off the goddamn moral high horse with the work-from-home bulls***,” Musk continued. Why is this guy's every word given so much importance? Yes, it's great that he revolutionized the EV market and sent satellites to space but that doesn't mean he hasn't made mistakes like spending $44B on Twitter or his loss making solar panel ventures. #wfh #rto https://www.cnbc.com/2023/05/16/elon-musk-work-from-home-morally-wrong-when-some-have-to-show-up.html
Don’t care what this man says. I will never work at a company he owns, and I will never go back to the office unless I have to, which is only if I’m desperate for a job or if I go crazy, which is what you have to be to want anything to do with this man and any company of his if you value any WLB. TC: 90K, fully remote forever
That is why I would never work for that moron
Rich people want to control the working class and he's among the richest
No kidding, my productivity drops by 30% when I do work from home. But then again it’s nice to have that as an option for folks with families, I’d settle for the hybrid setting!
This is definitely a each to their own thing. I find working in an office super distracting
Today I basically got no work done trying to move around the office where people didn't loudly talk nearby so I can concentrate. And no I don't like listening to music when I work. I shouldn't have to..
Would be great if this laptop class stops buying teslas
> Why is this guy's every word given so much importance? because people like you keep propagating it.
Just go to mars
Who cares about this failure and his stupid backward views? Psycho Musk is a liar with failed car company and zero brain cells all his wealth only exists on paper he’s a fraud living off generational wealth a corrupt immoral man.
He is a good one to preach about morals. This guy got two women pregnant at the same time including an exec who worked for him 😂
And paid off a flight attendant to keep quiet after assaulting her on a plane. The guy is hypocrisy personified.
He has money and money makes you right.

He’s the richest man in the world. When he speaks, people listen whether you agree with him or not. He’s certainly in the loony bin at times, but it’s understandable why he has a platform.
Spoke to a colleague that used to work for him; he’s a COO for another Co now but had a somewhat similar sentiment but more nuanced. The gist of it is, in order to truly innovate you really need to be in person. If you’re just doing a low impact or more task oriented job, WFH is fine. Not saying I completely agree with it but there is some merit to it. Could also be a carryover from decades of the status quo that was broken. We’ll see how it plays out.
Brainstorming and ideating is much easier in person. Those are the bedrock of innovation. So he's not completely wrong.
