I'm trying to decide between two offers in London. 1. HR consulting firm - £90k base / 25% bonus (TC £112.5k) 2. FAANG in house HR role - £80k base / 10% bonus / $70k RSUs ($17.5k per year) (TC ~£100k) It's also worth noting that option 1 has much higher employer pension contributions; Around 15% compared to 7% for option 2. I'm aiming to negotiate for the best possible scenario before making a decision. Hopefully they come up quite a bit, as I'm looking for a 20-30% bump to my current TC! Assuming no changes to the above options, which stands out as better? Current TC (consulting): £100k YOE: 9 #hr #tech #consulting Edit: A couple of other considerations that have been made apparent to me. 1. Better WLB at FAANG versus consulting. No billable hours either! 2. FX risk on RSUs. The dollar is strong versus the pound right now, and that may not be the case when RSUs vest.
Additional question - Does the FAANG offer seem fair? It feels below market to me, but maybe I'm reading through too many blind posts from Californians!
You also have to consider other perks in the faang like free food, flexibility to work from anywhere, insurance, coworkers, etc. IMO 15% increase in not worth it.
Damn, 9 YOE and 100k? The UK’s pay market for recruiters is so much lower than the US. You’d be making close to 200k+ in the US
Go with consulting, more security with all the tech chaos right now. You’ll be last in first out at Faang.
No brainer Faang bud! Much better qol too that you forgot to mention
It is about 8% lower comp though... 15% less if you consider total reward (ER pension contributions)
