Hello Blinders - want to share couple of my recent interview experiences and want to get your feedback and learn if anyone has experienced the same? Apple - Technical Product Manager (AMP) Went through the entire interview process. Received great feedback and hiring manager told me me that the team liked me but she would also like me to talk to couple other people since I might be a better match. Both roles were in her org. Since I had an offer they expedited the process and within couple of days recruiter called me saying the feedback is great and asked me for my expected compensation and immigration details. After that things slowed down. I spoke to one of the hiring manager again. And after weeks of back and forth with the recruiter I learned the position has been filled. Question is why would they ask me to go through the process, share feedback, ask for expected compensation when they are not decided on a candidate. Did the expected comp turned them off? Atlassian - Sr. Product Manager After going through multiple rounds of interviews recruiter called me and said feedback is good and would like to schedule a final round with couple other folks. Asked me to share my availability but today I received an email saying they are moving with other candidates. Why this miscommunication? Can you trust a recruiter or company after this? This is not a rant but I just want to know if itβs a norm and has anyone gone through the same experience? #pm #product #productmanager #interview #apple #atlassian
Same thing happened to me with AMP. Everything was good and was basically ghosted after the on-site. Followed up with the recruiter and nothing. Followed up two weeks later and the recruiter said the HM will get back to her after Thanksgiving. I have accepted a different job now, this behavior at Apple is unacceptable. The other company expedited me and had an offer on the table within 3 days
Something similar happened to me with at Blend for PM interviews. Not sure what the rationale is.
